NEW METHOD TO UPLOAD MONTHLY FISH PHOTOS

Uploading the Photos from Your Phone Using the QR Code


We have created a page on the website where you can upload your photos direct to the server. The upload page is: https://fishing.manacc.nz/upload-image.php


You can open the page by scanning the QR code, and then save it to your phone so you can easily use it again later.


Step 1: Scan the QR Code

  1. Open the camera app on your phone.

  2. Point your camera at the QR code.

  3. Tap the link that appears on your phone screen.

  4. The Upload Image page will open.







Step 2: Save the Page as a Shortcut

On an iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the upload page in Safari.

  2. Tap the Share button. This usually looks like a square with an arrow pointing up.

  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.

  4. You can leave the name as it is, or rename it to something like Upload Photos.

  5. Tap Add.

A shortcut icon will now appear on your Home Screen. Next time, you can tap that icon to open the upload page directly.

On an Android Phone or Tablet

  1. Open the upload page in Chrome or your usual internet browser.

  2. Tap the three dots menu in the top right corner.

  3. Tap Add to Home screen or Install app.

  4. You can leave the name as it is, or rename it to something like Upload Photos.

  5. Tap Add.

A shortcut icon will now appear on your Home Screen. Next time, you can tap that icon to open the upload page directly.

On Other Phones or Browsers

The wording may be slightly different depending on your phone or browser.

Look for options such as:

  • Share

  • Add to Home Screen

  • Add Page To

  • Create Shortcut

  • Install App

  • Bookmark

If you cannot add it to your Home Screen, you can save it as a bookmark or favourite in your browser.



Step 3: Uploading a Photo

  1. Choose how to upload the photo:

    1. Take a new photo

      Open the saved shortcut on your phone. Select this option if you want to take a photo using your phone camera OR

    2. Choose an existing image
      Select this option if the photo is already saved on your phone, tablet, or computer. From your phone, tablet or computer go to  https://fishing.manacc.nz/upload-image.php

  2. The Upload Image page will open.

  3. Enter the person’s name in the Person Name box. When testing please use test as the name so we know if it a genuine entry or not.

  4. Tap Browse.

  5. Depending on the option you selected, your phone will either open the camera or allow you to choose a saved image.

  6. Take the photo or select the existing image.

  7. Tap Upload Image.

  8. Wait until the upload is complete before closing the page. If you don’t see the message in green, either try again or send via email as normal.







Accepted Image Types

The upload page accepts:

  • JPG

  • PNG

  • WEBP

Uploads up to 10MB are accepted. Images are resized, saved and sent to the server under 1MB.


Tips

Please enter your name before uploading the photo.

If your phone asks for permission to use the camera or access your photos, choose Allow.

For best results, take a clear photo with good lighting.

Upload one photo at a time and wait for the upload to finish before starting another one.
