From the Commodore
Welcome past Commodores, Honorary Life members, Veteran members, members and guests
Hopefully the wind has left us for a bit,(after today), so we can get out on the water and enjoy our wonderful coast line and its environment.
Yacht Mast Storage
It has come to our attention, that there are a number of “non members" masts currently stored on our mast rack. If these are not identified in the next week, they will be removed until owners are identified, and failing that, they will be destroyed.
Travel Lift /Yard Operations/Groundsman
John McKenzie has advised us that its time for him to move on, so his bus is getting ready to hit the road in the New Year. As a result we now have a vacancy in this area, so if you think you have the necessary skills then please contact me (commodore@manacc.co.nz) to discuss further, or send me your CV.
Locker Draw & Raffles
At the first new committee meeting on Monday night, it was suggested that the raffle and locker draws could be drawn earlier in the night, so we are now advising that this will happen between 7-7.30pm, once all the tickets are sold.
Marina Barge Dredging
From next Monday 3rd November to Friday 7th November the Marina Barge will be carrying out dredging on the outgoing tide only. NB: There may not be enough room to enter and exit the marina, so care is advised, and the barge operator will be available on VHF channel #6.
Moorings Update
Motuara Island Mooring has the incorrect vessel size shown on the Motuara Island Mooring Buoy, and correct max vessel length is 18 metres
Maori Bay Mooring-Port Ligar is missing, however will be re-instated in due course.
Tasman Bay Yacht Club
They have advised us that they are holding the Nelson Marina Regatta on 16-20 January, 2026, and this is for Keelers, Trailer yachts and Sports Boats. More details are available on https;//.tasmanbaycc.co.nz/nelson/regatta/
Always happy to discuss any items personally with members at their leisure.
